Vancouver Police Department: "Critical Mass Has Reached Critical Mass"

It's official: Critical Mass has reached Critical Mass. At least, so say the VPD.

Darah Hansen of the Vancouver Sun quotes Vancouver police Insp. Rick McKenna:

“The fact of the matter is that Critical Mass has reached a critical mass of civil disobedience."

Critical Mass probably hit that mark a few years ago, as You Never Bike Alone showed, with the VPD responding appropriately by taking a softly, softly approach to policing the rides.

Larry Campbell helped bolster Critical Mass when he rode in the June 2003 Critical Mass.

The current mayor, Gregor Robertson, campaigned at Critical Mass and rides it from time to time.

Around 3,000 riders are expected at tomorrow's ride.
