Video: Missing Women Protestors "Occupy" Granville and Georgia
Family and friends of victims of Canada's biggest serial killer, Robert Pickton, form a drum circle in the middle of the road at Granville and Georgia in downtown Vancouver.
The "occupation" of this busy junction is part of an ongoing protest at the nearby Missing Women's Enquiry, which is supposed to find out why so many women disappeared off the streets of Vancouver and why the police failed to act sooner in following strong leads to the killer.
The provincial government refused legal funding - against the advice of the Enquiry's commissioner Wally Oppal - for small groups, such as sex workers and aboriginal groups, effectively preventing them from competing with the well-funded police defence teams in cross-examinations.
