BC Hydro Puts In A Smart Meter

A couple of electricians from BC Hydro (BC's electric utility) installed one of the new Smart Meters on the side of our house today, one of the 1.8 million meters that are being replaced in BC and one of the forecast billion smart meters that will be in operation around the world by 2020.

I first took notice of cell phone scares when watching a television series based on former British Tory MP Alan Clark's Diaries. The then cabinet minister was convinced his terminal brain cancer (he died of a brain tumour in 1999) was down to his heavy cell phone use.

Other people do christmas cards. Google is bigger than that. The Corp is giving away, on behalf of its army of advertising partners, $20 million to charities this year.
